Meet Your Experts

BriannaBrianna Stuczynski, Governance Coach, BoardOnTrack

Brianna is a graduate of Long Island University’s Global College, a program that allowed her to study in 12 different countries. This has prepared her with the ability to excitedly connect with people from every background and quickly think on her feet, no matter what bump in the road they may come upon.

This experience has also instilled in her a passion for great education, as a human right. Before joining BoardOnTrack, Brianna worked for the New York City-based education equity nonprofit, Student Leadership Network, where she gained experience supporting and managing their Board of Directors. She also comes with experience in customer service from the Brooklyn-based jewelry company, Bird + Stone, whose mission is to partner with and give back to local nonprofits.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, she loves to hike, play with dogs, bake and travel.

Gina Fafard Senior, Governance Coach, BoardOnTrack

Gina brings over 20 years of educational leadership experience to BoardOnTrack, having served students and families in both large urban and small suburban districts. Gina taps into her broad range of experience, from being a classroom teacher to Charter School CEO, to providing governance coaching that is both practical and attainable. She is a believer that the key to success in growing a healthy and vibrant school or network of schools starts with its leadership. Gina helped pioneer the role of governance coach at BoardOnTrack and has twice been a BoardOnTrack Member – once serving as a CEO of a CT Charter School, and the second time in Florida.

Gina holds an EdS degree, a MS degree in Ed Leadership, and BA degree in Art. When she’s not coaching school boards, she enjoys everything outdoors, including camping, fishing, kayaking, and cycling.

About this Q&A with the Experts:

Committees should be the engine of your powerful governance machine. But so few boards have the right committees, doing the right things. During this lively interactive session, we will answer these frequently asked questions:

  • Do we really need committees?
  • If so, which ones?
  • Who should serve on the committees?
  • How often should they meet and what should they be doing?
  • What’s the distinction between the work of the committees and the work of the full board?
  • What if our board is too small for committees?
  • What’s wrong with doing everything as a committee of the whole?
  • How will committees lighten the workload rather than add to it?

Watch a quick 20-minute Q&A session with our governance experts at BoardOnTrack.

We hope you enjoy the session!
